Region:

East and West Siaosio are two barangays (villages) in the Pangasinan Province in central Luzon, Philippines. It is about a 7 hour drive from Manila and the last hour is through some relatively rugged terrain. It is close to the coast and is one of the host communities that Team Energy Corporation sponsors in their Corporate Social Responsibility Program.

Local Water Situation:

Currently, there are private and shared wells with hand pumps and other spring projects that currently do not service the entirety of the barangays.

A Single Drop's Role:

ASD was hired by Team Energy to implement a Spring Development PODS Program to tap a local spring and help design a community water system that would provide water to over 40 tap stands in both barangays and some surrounding areas. ASD facilitated the formation of a formal organization that offers the service to the community for an affordable user fee to ensure that the system is maintained and more services can be offered for further community development.
